ScuttleButt Dec. 2009

Looks like the sailing season of 2009 is down to a few days left in December.  November found lots of members winterizing their boats and a couple of birthday parties.  There was one birthday party that progressed into an "all events".  Everyone had lots of fun.  I think it was bigger than the Bye-Bye Lake party.  A large gathering was held on Dec. 18th.

Bob Moore said  he thought it was some young guy's birthday.

Harbor Master Mr. Brady has had the docks winterized.  No water or pump out till next spring.  A fierce wind storm came through the Club in December, blowing down limbs and a fairly large tree  across the care takers drive.  Also, a couple of boats were damaged as a dock line broke and two boats tangled.  So as a reminder, check you dock lines to see if they are secure and in good condition.  This may be a bad winter for weather conditions, as it has started early.

Check for the upcoming New Years Day sail and pot luck dinner.  Pot luck is at noon and sail afterwards, maybe!

The BOG would like to thank all the members who helped and participated in GLSC activates this year.  Our club is what we make it.  A Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year from the BOG.

See ya on the docks next year.
